Every now and then I love to make something just for the pure joy of making it...last week it was gnocci with burnt butter sage sauce (a treat because we are mainly gluten, dairy free) and sometimes it will be a muffin or a cake with 'traditional' ingredients. Why not? He calls them 'Johnny Cakes' and his eyes light up when Johnny Cakes are on the menu.
