Knitting: A tiny hat for a tiny head. Short of stalking the exit to the maternity ward, I'm not sure how to find out for sure if it's newborn size. For the first time in a long time, I have no very tiny people to call on.
Reading: A book about a precocious 5-year-old to a precocious 5-year-old (and loving every page).
Yarn Along here.
It's precious :) Sunny will be turning precociously 5 this year... Mixed feelings about my baby growing up. Some days I wish she was tiny again.

Matilda is the best book for a five year old and I am so glad you are loving it!
ReplyDeleteThe wee little hat is sweet, but sadly there are not new ones in my life either.
If its any help, my newborns both had 35cm head circumferences, which is apparently the higher side of average, so I guess you need to take your tape measure to the supermarket and find a piece of fruit to try it on :-)
ReplyDeleteThat hat is so stinkin' small! I was making pj pants for my nephew and marveling that all my kiddos are getting so big. No babies here either! And you cannot go wrong with Matilda.
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect! That little one is very lucky to get such a beautiful gift from you... xx
ReplyDeleteMatilda is amazing, such a classic x
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, I never have any tiny heads to try things on either. Fabulous book too, I must read that to my girls!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. It's always a little bittersweet to make newborn things...and then hold them up next to my "big" boy's and observe the difference.
ReplyDeleteI love Matilda! read it twice and could easily read it again and again. He is a funny writer. Love your little wee hat and the thought of you lurking in maternity wards :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little hat, and I love Matilda!

Cuteness! My daughter loved Matilda - she and her best friend read and re-read that book last year.
ReplyDeleteWe read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to our 6 year old - a chapter a night - and I don't know who enjoyed it more, she or us.

Very sweet little hat.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the fun read.
Lol at stalking the maternity ward, what about a new baby at a playgroup or kindy or similar?? Its VERY cute!
ReplyDeleteI read this somewhere on sizing...'My favorite gauge for a baby hat is preemie = fits on an orange, infant = fits on a grapefruit.
ReplyDeleteLove the stitch pattern on the hat.
ReplyDeletelove the tiny hat! oh how i wish for babies here!
