"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013" via Che and Fidel.
Lola: Her morning hair. There are tears every time we have to brush it.
Pearl: She announced emphatically this evening: "I like octopuses."
Stella: At the end of preschool day two she confided, "Pearl had a little cry. She wanted to go home. But I made her feel better."

Gorgeous. I love hearing about siblings looking after each other.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can completely understand Lola's tears over brushing her hair – I remember being the same as a child! (I'm not that much better now, truthfully, but I probably shouldn't admit that).
I love how each of your girls are different, and that each photo and your words really capture their individual personalities. So lovely! x
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. I love the idea of your girls comforting each other when you are not there. x
ReplyDeleteyou have such sweet girls x
ReplyDeleteOh I remember crying every morning when my mom brushed my hair!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain Lola! When you grow up you don't have to brush your hair at all if you don't want to!
And how sweet are Stella and Pearl...it must be so special to be a twin!
I adore these images, and your lovely words for each. Such beautiful little girls.
ReplyDeleteSar xx
Oh the hair brushing. I so remember it with my Annie (9) and am so not looking forward to it with Aurora (10 months)
ReplyDeleteI love the photos of your girls. Stella always looks cheeky to me xo
ReplyDeleteoh bless her making Pearl feel better...well who doesn't like an octopus...and their eyes!! xxx
ReplyDeleteI have a solution to the hair brushing thing... I was a crazy rat's-nest bed head kinda kid but I had reeeally long hair that went down to my bum and I loved it. My mum got so fed up with the brushing and crying that she decided to get me into braiding and old-fashioned rag curls. I would go to bed with braids or rags and wake up with curly or wavy hair and be so happy, and no brushing in the morning! The brushing in the evening was a bit torturous but I knew what I was going to get in the morning!
ReplyDeleteAnother solution for hair dramas - I have a v curly haired girl and have found this http://blogofmichele.blogspot.com.au/2012/11/a-tangle-teezer-saved-my-life.html to be the best invention ever. V occassionally with a spray of detangler but mostly it handles it on its on NO TEARS. Well worth the $30 or so dollars. Dont sell them, no kickbacks just some advice from one mumma to another to save the daily tears over hair
ReplyDeleteOh Lola. I know another Lola who hates having her hair brushed too. We have to distract her with YouTube videos of Wow Wow Wubzy. I am so over that show. LOL
ReplyDeletelovely. If you ever find a solution for hair brushing please post it!!!
ReplyDeleteWe need one here.
The way you capture each of your girls with the camera and with your words is truly something special, Greer. This week Pearl has my heart with her ivy crown and her love of pearl necklace wearing sea creatures ;-) Belinda x
ReplyDeleteSo so sweet! xo
