Sew Vintage: McCall's 8121

I wish I could capture the cadence of her voice in writing. "Can I come with you, Mumma? Can you help me? Can I have that one?"

The request, this time, was a pink dress. "Can you make a pink dress for me, Mumma?" Why, of course, little one. A pink dress it is.

Luckily, this Anna Maria Horner fabric from the stash was pink enough, and the pattern, copyright 1965, also met with her approval. Bright yellow vintage buttons from my grandmother's stash finish it off.

  4. We need to have a talk Ms. Greer. I know that you're half a world away and just think you're making cute things for your girls. But (by sacred marital pact) husband and I are not even discussing a second child for another year, at least, and in the meantime these cute dresses are making my ovaries ache. Freaking adorable! ;)

  5. Oh I love little vintage styles!! There are plenty of pictures of my older 2 sisters wearing little numbers like these back in the 70's with white knee high socks!

Beautiful dress and it looks like you have one happy little customer on your hands too :)

  10. Some of my favourite items have been from very old McCall's and Simplicity patterns- that dress you made is lovely. Which makes me want to go and get the dust off my machine and thread it up :-)
