Outside :: Inside

Outside it's wet. It's been raining for three nights and three days. Rivers run alongside roads, and across them in places. We fall asleep to the rhythmic drumming on the red tin roof, and wake up late because it's so dark it doesn't feel like morning.

Inside we sift through boxes and rearrange our stuff against a new backdrop. I'm awaiting the courier's delivery that will mean I can begin work again, and in the meantime I drink coffee, knit special orders and type up recipes that are overdue for submission.

It's true, life does roll on.

  3. It really has been so miserable...

    Hoping for sunny days ahead, where people feel more like smiling and enjoying life. The rain seems to bring so many people down.

    I wouldn't mind it if I could stay curled up on the couch with a good book and a pot of tea! Perhaps that is what everyone else is thinking :)

  4. It's a lot like our days except it's heat and sun keeping us indoors. I hope we get some rain because it will be something new and different. Also, we just really need the rain.

  13. What gorgeous comparisons Greer :) I'm a sucker for rainy days inside. Especially when you spend the day in your jammies, drinking hot chocolate and in my case working on a quilt with an old Hollywood picture on the telly in the background. One that I've seen many times over :)
