Beach

The hour or so we live from the coast is enough to limit the amount of time we spend there. It's just not something we do very often. But whenever we get there, as we did this week on a visit to a favourite aunty, I find myself wondering if the beach might suit us more than these rolling green hills we currently call home.

  1. I think the same Greer! When we go and stay in Venus Bay over the Christmas break I could easily refuse to leave... Venus Bay has the best of both worlds! Gorgeous beaches and rolling green hills with cows chewing grass and kangaroos joining them at sunset! I'd happily move there :)

  2. I love living at the beach. It forms part of my everyday life. I check the tides and the wind forecast daily. I walk on the beach alone; some days I pop down with the kids to play on the rocks and climb the dunes. We have the National park for walks and rockpools. We are very lucky here as it is warm and generally swimmable year round (though some would disagree with me!). It would be great to have rolling green hills behind me though too.. actually anywhere where I'm not surrounded by concrete is ok with me xx

  3. I am the opposite - we live by the coast...just a ten minute walk away, but I hanker for the countryside and rolling green fields.

    Gorgeous pictures,

  7. I live in the city and dream of a coastal life. To see the joy in Jarvis' face when we go to the beach has made me want this change. Oh, love the cue bathers the girls are wearing!

  8. Lovely photos Greer. I often wonder the same thing about the beach but I always come to the conclusion that it's a case of the grass is greener, I'm sure I'd miss my green hills too much and I'd get sick of sand getting everywhere :) I do have a dream though that once all the kids have flown the nest Anth and I will sell up and move to a wee cottage in a little village by the sea.

  9. Oh, the beach...it calls me every time I visit. And you do have some stunning coastline in Australia, and it's sunnier than ours!

I grew up by the sea and miss is a LOT. It's like a physical pull. I don't think I'll ever feel really settled until I live on the coast again. x

  11. The eternal question in our hearts.

Kyle and I want the mountains for our hiking and their breathtaking beauty, which leads us toward Asheville, North Carolina. We desire the ocean which takes us to a number of places in Florida or Charleston, South Carolina. I vote we go to Hawaii... Plenty of hiking very tall peaks and the most gorgeous beaches. :) I spent my summers there with family when I was growing up and I long to go back every day.
