Christina, once preserved, the rinds are used finely chopped in Moroccan tagines, and I've seen recipes for salad dressings and marinades that use it. It has a really distinct flavour.
Don't preserved lemons look great in their big jars! I am having a giveaway at the moment for a little girl's pink tote..just thought you may be interested as you have one..a little girl that is!
Such a coincidence that I've just come inside with a basket full of limes and lemons from our over-laden trees. Now I'm off to the local Oppy to find some large jars. I've not preserved lemons/limes before.
Hi Greer. I would love to try these. We have a huge lemon tree next door which we use. Is it just sea salt and the juice from the lemons? Would be great if you could post the recipe. Elaina xo
YUM! Such beautiful pictures...as ever.
ReplyDeleteOooh, looks very interesting. What will you do with them, if I may be so naive as to ask?! :)

ReplyDeleteI'm sure I can smell them! Ada :)
ReplyDeleteI am wondering what you would use them for as well! They certainly look pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove having these on hand! I use them any time I would use lemon juice or zest, which is pretty much in anything.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Moroccan food, and preserved lemons. Gorgeous pictures.

ReplyDeleteSo good.
ReplyDeleteThese look great. Please don't tell us that you grew the lemons or I'll die of jealousy!
