A Pompom on a Pot

A couple of months ago I travelled up to Sydney to film a little interview about my involvement with the Biggest Morning Tea last year. I thought I'd finally share it here. Despite how self-consciousness I feel about it, it's a bloody good cause that deserves as much attention as it can get, even if it comes via a slightly frumpy, bespectacled person who uses the word 'hype' with a straight face, placing extra emphasis on the 'p'. Pah.

In the very least, it explains why I'm so passionate about this cause, and why I'm doing it all again in a couple of weeks. If you can't wait and simply must donate now, you can do so here.

(And they got me on film threatening to knit a tea cosy, so what could I do? One lucky person will win it and a whole bunch of other great stuff.)

    Wonderful!
    And such a fantastic cause!
    I am in!

    Are you on Instagram?
I feel this lends itself to everyone posting a photo of their little tea party...with a hash tag of course! #GreersMorningTea

    1. Now, there's an idea. Leave it with me! (Yes, I'm on instragram as @typicallyred but don't actually know what I'm doing there yet...)

    2. I've only just linked up with instagram last week, too! And spending too much time there, in fact, but I'm finding it is an amazing way in which to link with other visual people; lots of artists, photographers, crafters, knitters (!!). It is a great way to show how work progresses, and the work process. So immediate. xx

  8. You had me crying as soon as you started talking (I'm blaming pregnancy hormones, but I have a feeling I would have still gotten emotional if I wasn't pregnant). Fabulous interview. I'm there!

  11. Go you! We have something similar here ... MacMillan Cancer Support organise the World's Biggest Coffee Morning. In recent years I've organised an actual coffee morning, but I think I'll take a leaf from your book this year and go virtual :)

  12. Ohh, so exciting!! It was really lovely to hear your "real" voice. You came across well (great necklace!) and looked not at all frumpy, rather pretty I thought. Good to know you're doing the morning tea again, I look forward to it. xx

  15. Greer Great interview, really really great! I commend your Biggest Morning Tea drive, I'll be joining in with you!!

The cause is so close to my heart too. I worked for Cancer Council Victoria for 5 years until our move interstate. I lost my mother to cancer just over two years ago, after an eight year battle. I think of you mothering your three beautiful girls without your mother her wisdom and support and my heart goes out to you. Maybe because I feel my own loss so greatly. Perhaps I am especially sensitive this week with mothers day looming!

May you feel great love and support from the sisterhood, may this years fundraiser on your blog be full of yummy food, kind visitors, and slow cups of tea xo Rachel
